Four Easy Habits to Adopt for Better Self-Care

Adding self-care to your daily life is easier than you think with the right habits. Small and repeatable actions can make the most impact on your life over time. This means that using not enough time as your excuse for not making self-care a priority is no longer viable as you don’t need to do everything overnight to see results. So kick the excuses and find the right small and easy habits to start the right path to live a healthier and happier life for you.

The following are four easy daily habits to adopt to achieve a better self-care routine:

Start with a Daily Intention

Goal-setting is a vital aspect here. By mindfully setting clear intentions for what you aim to achieve today and expressing them aloud or writing them in your journal, you increase your chances of successfully attaining your desired outcome.

For example, if you want to get healthy and lose some weight, setting up your day so that you have time to walk for 30 to 40 minutes, prepare and eat nutritious meals, and consume at least eight glasses of water, you’re going to be more likely to accomplish it.

Create and Use a Self-Care Kit

You might think a self-care kit includes lotions, potions, and things like that, but the truth is, a self-care kit can be whatever you need to make yourself feel good. Prepare a collection of items that you can use whenever you are struggling, such as a journal, coloring book, bath bombs, or whatever it is that you’ll use to help yourself. The key is that you need to use it when it’s necessary and not skip it. Just making the kit is not enough. Putting it to use is what is going to help.

Unplug and Declutter

There are all sorts of clutter in the world today, from social media notifications to the clutter around your home from paperwork and stuff. The more you can organize this clutter and keep it at bay, the happier and healthier you’ll become because it will be easier to achieve your goals when you’re not distracted by this clutter.

Practice Morning and Nightly Positive Affirmations

Positive thinking can change everything about your life. They say that what you focus on grows, so it makes sense if you focus on what’s good in your life and the positive actions you’re taking to do better, you’ll feel better about your life. So start and end each day with positive affirmations. You can write them on little strips of paper and put them in a jar by your night table so that you can grab one or two each evening before you nod off to sleep and morning before you get up.

If any of these small habits feel like a chore, stop, and try a different one. To better stay on track, you need to find the ones that make you want to do it. Something so easy you can’t say no. You don’t need to implement habits that are hard or overwhelming to see good self-care results.
